Tomorrow it begins. Perhaps you’ve been repping it since Labor day, but I live by the calendar and mine (a Doctor Who one in case you were wondering) says that tomorrow is the first official day of fall. Decorative gourds, cinnamon scented candles, cozy sweaters, and all manner of pumpkin flavored goodies are just on the horizon. I know that by mid-November I’ll be overly saturated and the jaded, “get off my lawn”, seasonal sarcasm will infiltrate its way into my holiday party banter. BUUUUUUUUUT until that super-fun-for-whoever-has-to-chat-with-me-that-day time comes, I am hardcore all about fall.
So if you’re right there with me, thanks for the excellent company. But if you need a little nudge then I’ve got nine recipes for fall culled from some amazing bloggers (and duh, one of my own too) that will kick your wooly socked, cider sipping, hygge-full fall fest into gear.
Apple Bundt Cake with Brown Sugar Glaze from Beyond the Butter
This apple cake is JUST SO BEAUTIFUL! Not to mention Jennifer is a baking maven who can do no wrong with flour and butter. I would totally make this to impress friends, but I bet eating it for breakfast the next day would actually bring me even more joy.
Rosemary Garlic Smashed Potatoes from Our Balanced Bowl
Haylie over at Our Balanced Bowl has got me swooning over these crispy nuggets of joy. All the carbs please! But seriously, can you imagine what your house will smell like with these in the oven?
Pumpkin Cheesecake Cookies from Butternut Bakery
If your fall thing is pumpkin – I’m looking at all your PSL groupies out there – then this is the cookie for you. This is just one of many of Jenna’s drool-worthy recipes. Check it out and get ready to be incredibly, gleefully happy.
Butternut Squash with Brown Sugar Deliciousness from Sip and Feast
I mean the name says it all. James specializes in approachable recipes with food photography that will make you want to lick your screen. Personally, I’m keeping this recipe up my sleeve as a stunner of a side dish for Thanksgiving.
Grilled Pork Chops with Apple Dijon Glaze from Mom’s Dinner
If you’re reluctant to let go of summer and all the fun that comes with it, then Susie has a killer dinner recipe for you. Clearly though I’m going to be mopping this glaze on all of the things long after the grill has been put away.
Pimento Beer Cheese Soup from Feelin Whisky
I want to bathe in this soup. Is that too gross? Well it’s only a testament to how luscious and creamy-dreamy this is. Also give me all the cheese. Thank you Emily for bringing this into my life.
Homemade Apple Brandy from Ramshackle Pantry
While we’re getting boozy over here let’s all please make a batch of Ben’s apple brandy. Can you picture yourself cozy on the couch, wrapped in a warm blanket, slowly sipping on this? If not then I am concerned.
Spiced Turkey Meatballs from Bright Roots Kitchen
For a warming, fall dish that you’ll want to put into your year round rotation try these baked turkey meatballs, flavored with warm cinnamon and curry and topped with a sweet and savory glaze. Am I glaze obsessed? I don’t have a problem – YOU have a problem!
This caramel makes me so happy, I can’t even. It’s like biting into a juicy caramel apple at your high school’s fall festival, except you don’t have to go back to high school – thank god. You can put it on ice cream, drizzle it over cake, or just lick it off a spoon, quietly and alone. Trust me, it deserves your undivided attention.
I hope this list gives you some fall inspiration, a little joy, or maybe just something to procrastinate with while you’re waiting for the weekend to start. Either way happy fall!
Great post, Jo! I can’t thank you enough for including me in this post!❤️
Jennifer I seriously bought a fancy bundt pan (like last week on amazon) just to make your cake.
Yay! Thanks so much for featuring me! You’re the best. I personally can’t wait to make your apple cider caramel and the beer cheese soup. Oh, and the butternut squash. Actually, can I just make all of these? WE SHOULD HAVE A POTLUCK AND MEET UP!
That soup looks bomb though, right? I’m so happy to have you on the list. My husband and I are fans of the crispy potato (because who isn’t really) and I guarantee yours will make repeat appearances until it’s too hot to turn the oven back on.
This round up has me ready for falling leaves and a pumpkin spiced latte! What great recipes. Thank you for putting this together
Happy to Susie. I’m so psyched to make them all!
Loved the blog and recipes!!! Happy First Day of Fall?
Thanks Anecia,
Happy fall to you too! I’m so happy it’s fall – although I know i’ll get cranky when it gets reeeeeeaaaaalllllly cold.
